Day 1: DEPART WASH. D.C. Your overnight journey to exotic Africa starts with a 5 p.m. flight from Dulles Airport (IAD).
Day 2: CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA. Afternoon arrival in Cape Town, South Africa’s oldest and most spectacular city. You will be met and escorted to your First Class hotel, located directly on the Atlantic waterfront. PROTEA SEAPOINT HOTEL (B)

Day 3: CAPE TOWN. On this morning’s city tour, ride by cable car to the top of Table Mountain for glorious city and bay views. Descend and travel through the Malay Quarter and the city center toward the Milnerton Lighthouse for a chance to view and photograph mountain vistas from a distance. Sightseeing ends at the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, filled with restaurants and cafes, craft shops, and a sprawling mall. Balance of the day is at leisure. (B)
Day 4&5: CAPE TOWN. Two leisure days. Sheltered beneath the familiar shape of Table Mountain, Cape Town is a perfect city to explore on your own. You may wish to take our full day optional excursion the Cape Peninsula to admire the breathtaking views at the Cape of Good Hope Natural Reserve. Another very special optional day tour is to Aquila Private Game Reserve. After driving through the scenic Winelands region, you will arrive in Aquila for a thrilling game drive, this time not in a national park but in a private game reserve.(B)

Day 6: CAPE TOWN-VICTORIA FALLS. This morning, fly via Johannesburg to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. You will be met and transferred to your deluxe hotel. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of mighty Victoria Falls, a.k.a. “The Eighth Wonder of the World.” At sunset, enjoy refreshments aboard A.C.T.’s private Sundowner Cruise, on the Zambezi River. Keep your eyes open on this safari cruise for crocodiles, hippos, and other wildlife! VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI LODGE (B)
Day 7: VICTORIA FALLS/ZAMBIA. Elephant treks, “Walking with Lions,” helicopter and balloon rides, and an African village await your discovery during the next two leisure days. After breakfast, you may wish to cross the famous bridge spanning the Zambezi River and enter the nation of Zambia (tourist visa fee is approximately $100). Here you can enter Zambia National Parkto view the Falls from a different perspective, as well as visit the Livingston Museum. This evening, enjoy a traditional Boma dinner show at your hotel. (B,D)

Day 8: VICTORIA FALLS. Another free day is yours to enjoy this interesting town
. You may wish to visit the historic Victoria Falls Hotel, or take a night safari. Your own hotel, the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, cited in both Conde Naste and Travel & Leisure magazines as one of the top lodges on the continent, has a private watering hold that attracts animals during the day and night! Day 9: VICTORIA FALLS/BOTSWANA. Following breakfast, cross the border to Botswana and proceed to your First Class Lodge. In the afternoon, embark on a safari cruise down the Chobe River. Return to the lodge for dinner. (B,D)

Day 10: BOTSWANA/NAMIBIA/BOTSWANA. Botswana is Africa’s nature paradise and is still relatively undiscovered. Chobe National Park has great herds of elephants and buffalo, as well as three other members of the Big Five: lions, leopard, and rhino. This morning, take an exciting game drive in an open vehicle. Return to the lodge then cross the Chobe river to visit Impalia Island on Namibia’s Captiva Strip. A fourth safari on the Chobe River, an area that attracts bird and animal life, will conclude the day. (B,D)
Day 11: BOTSWANA/JOHANNESBURG. Enjoy an early morning game drive in open vehicle. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then transfer to the airport and fly to Johannesburg, South Africa ’s legislative capital. You will be met and transferred to your First Class hotel. Day 12: JOHANNESBURG /DEPART AFRICA. Morning at leisure. Optional tour to Soweto. This afternoon, transfer to the airport for your non-stop flight back to the U.S. (B)
Day 13: U.S.A. Arrive in Washington D.C.’s Dulles International Airport (IAD) at approximately 6:00 a.m.

After your overnight stay in Johannesburg on November 13, you will depart by motorcoach and follow a scenic drive to Sun City, arriving shortly after noon. Because on this extension your flight back to the States is not until the evening of the 15 th, the late checkout we’ve arranged ensures you 3 days—Nov. 13, 14, and 15 (ample time)—to partake in the many amenities offered. Your flight back to Washington D.C. arrives at 6 a.m. on November 16.
