Day 1: Your adventure begins at LAX with your flight to Bangkok, scheduled to depart at 1:50 p.m. Cross the International Date Line and enjoy China Airlines’ amenities and in-flight entertainment en route.

Day 2: BANGKOK, THAILAND. Welcome to Thailand, the “ Land of Smiles.” Upon arrival in Bangkok shortly after midnight, transfer to your upscale hotel,located in the central commercial and shopping district. ZENITH SUKHUMVIT HOTEL (B,B)

Day 3: After a late breakfast, we introduce you to this vibrant city. Your sightseeing tour of Bangkok is highlighted by some of the outstanding Buddhist temples (wats) in the capital. Visit Wat Trimitr with its invaluable 5-ton solid gold statue of Buddha and Wat Po, featuring the colossal 150 foot long “Reclining Buddha.” See the White Marble Temple representing the finest example of Thai architecture.

Day 4: BANGKOK. The next five days are free to explore this fascinating city on your own. As in the past, we will offer a package of affordable optional excursions. Today, we suggest a day tour to one of the last remaining authentic “floating markets” at Damnoen, plus a visit to the Rose Garden complex, a Thai village featuring working elephants and a presentation of local arts and history. Day 5: BANGKOK. Free day. Opt to take a morning tour of the Grand Palace complex, famous setting of the musical “The King and I.” The extravagantly ornate grounds conjures up images of the King of Siam, and is home to the city’s two most famous Buddhas—the Alabaster and Jade Buddhas. (B,B)

Day 6: BANGKOK. Free day. This evening, we offer a special Thanksgiving dinner with a traditional Thai dance performance, followed by a cruise down the Chao Phraya River to admire the illuminated wats and Royal Palace by night! (B,B)

Day 7: BANGKOK. Free day. An optional excursion to the world famous Bridge over the River Kwai and to Kanchanaburi, site of the WWII War Museum and national cemetery where many of the Allied prisoners who died during the Japanese occupation are laid to rest. This interesting tour out of the city and into the Thai jungle includes lunch. (B,B)

Day 8: BANGKOK/LOS ANGELES. Morning and afternoon at leisure. Transfer to the airport for your early evening flight back to the U.S. Your memorable journey ends when you arrive in Los Angeles shortly before 7 p.m. on the same day. (B)
