Day 1: Depart Los Angeles. Your exciting journey to Argentina begins on your overnight flight to Buenos Aires.

Day 2: BUENOS AIRES. Welcome to the Argentine capital, known as the “Paris of South America.” Transfer to your centrally located hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. HOTEL DE LAS AMERICAS

Day 3: BUENOS AIRES. Half day city sightseeing tour takes you first to the Plaza de Mayo—May Square. See Casa Rosada, visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, and view San Telmo, Teatro Colon, Avenida 9 de Julio, Recoleta Cemeteryand the tomb of Eva Peron, and Palermo Park. This evening, why not take in a classical tango dinner show performed by prominent interpreters of the dance’s excitement? (B)

Day 4: BUENOS AIRES. Full free day to explore on your own., or you may wish to join an optional excursion to visit a typical Argentine Estancia and experience real local gaucho culture. (B)

Day 5: BUENOS AIRES-IGUASSU FALLS. Today we transfer to the airport for our flight to Iguassu. On arrival, we board our coach and drive to the Argentine side of the Falls to explore this side of the famous falls. Then we head to the hotel, where the rest of your day and evening is at leisure. HOTEL BOURBON CATARATAS(B)

Day 6: IGUASSU FALLS. A leisure day to take a walking tour of this magnificent panorama of waterfalls. The numerous rainbows, clouds of spray, incessant roar and surrounding tropical growth makes this one of nature’s wonders. Optional excursions include exciting jet boat rides, or rain forest tours. Shopping in Paraguay is another possibility. (B)

Day 7: IGUASSU FALLS-BUENOS AIRES. A free morning before returning to Buenos Aires. The afternoon and evening are at your disposal in this grand capital with European heritage and South American flair. HOTEL DE LAS AMERICAS (B)

Day 8: BUENOS AIRES. Day at leisure. We recommend embarking on an optional excursion to Uruguay, visiting the Spanish-founded city of Colonia. You will transfer from your hotel to the pier and by hydrofoil sail to the colonial town. There, you will tour this picturesque World Heritage site, the oldest city in the country.(B)

Day 9 & 10: BUENOS AIRES-DEPART FOR LAX. “Adios” to Argentina as we transfer to the airport for your return flight to the U.S., arriving in Los Angeles the next day. Alternately, fly to Lima, Peru, for A.C.T.’ s PERU EXTENSION.

Extension

Day 10: BUENOS AIRES-LIMA, PERU. Fly to Lima and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, visit Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores and other sites on a city tour. (B)

Day 11: LIMA-CUZCO. Early morning flight to Cuzco. Take time to acclimate to the altitude of 11,444 feet. Later, see Plaza del Regocijo, the Cathedral, Koricancha and Inca ruins at Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay.(B)

Day 12: CUZCO-MACHU PICCHU. Today travel by scenic rail through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to Aguas Calientes. Then ascend by coach to Machu Picchu, the ruins of the “ Lost City of the Incas” for a guided tour. (B,L)

Day 13: MACHU PICCHU-CUZCO. A free morning to explore at your leisure. Rise early to witness an amazing sunrise over the ruins. This afternoon, return to Cuzco by rail.(B)

Day 14: CUZCO-LIMA. Return flight to Lima. Afternoon tour to the famed Larco Herrera and the Archaeological Museums and marvel at its priceless collection of pre-Columbian artifacts. (B)

Day 15: LIMA-HOMEBOUND FLIGHT. Transfer to the airport this afternoon for your flight back to the U.S.

Day 16: Your memorable journey to South America ends this morning when you arrive at LAX.
