Come and enjoy this thrilling 3-day getaway to Laughlin, Nevada. We’ll be staying at Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort, the very place where it all began. Although Don is no longer with us, his city continues to thrive and flourish in his desert oasis. During the journey, we’ll have snacks, raffles, and even a Bingo game on the bus. We will stop at Calico, a historic ghost town; we’ll have a no-host lunch. Entry fee and lunch are included in price. On the second day, we’ll embark on a side excursion to Oatman, Arizona, the home of the honeymoon hotel of Carole Lombard and Clark Gable. Look out for wild donkeys. This day also includes an OPTIONAL dinner cruise aboard a boat on the Colorado River. You’ll have time to freshen up before heading out on the boat. The Riverside Resort offers its own buffet and restaurants, including the Prime Rib room, if you prefer not to go on the dinner cruise. On the last day, we’ll check out late morning before heading home. There’ll be another included lunch stop in Victorville on the way back.

One of the oldest running Oktoberfest events in California is held in a real Bavarian village in Huntington Beach. Throughout the year you can enjoy the creature comforts of German culture and sometimes hear the language spoken by employees around the village. There are several beer halls and an Old World German Restaurant, home to authentic Bavarian menus and foods year-round, and host to Oktoberfest and other special events. This German restaurant has a large beer hall where Oktoberfest is held, but also contains an outdoor patio for enjoying the wonderful southern California nights while music from bands (direct from Germany) is broadcast out onto the adjoining fenced patio. IF you've never been to Oktoberfest, this is one of the best in California. Beware! Weekend, adults only nights can get a little wild. We know of one instance where a sworn single lady met her match and is now happily married!
Join us for a fascinating visit to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory near Pasadena and get intimate insights into our current space exploration activities on a walking tour of the facility, with quality time at each exhibit. The tour typically includes a multimedia presentation entitled “Journey to the Planets and Beyond” which provides an overview of the Laboratory’s activities and accomplishments. You have time to visit the von Karman Visitor Center, the Space Flight Operations Facility, and the Spacecraft Assembly Facility. The JPL is a working space exploration facility; therefore, highlights of the tour could change. Don’t miss this fascinating look at robotic exploration of our Solar System. Your day includes a visit to historic Old Pasadena where you’ll be given some leisure time for lunch on your own. Note: Reservation deadline is 25 days prior to the tour date and the tour is limited to 40 persons. Dates will be available in September.
Travel with us to Newport Beach and embark on a delightful Champagne Brunch Cruise aboard the Wild Goose, the private yacht owned by American movie legend John Wayne. The Wild Goose accrued film credits in its own right, serving as a prop in several films, including The President’s Analyst (1967) and Skidoo (1968). No elevators are present---this tour is inappropriate for persons with mobility restrictions.
Constructed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the museum is devoted to the history, science, and cultural impact of the film industry. It is the first large-scale museum of its kind in the United States. See temporary exhibitions, two state-of-the-art theaters, special events, and an ever-changing calendar of programs and screenings. The 300,000-square-foot museum is located in the historic May Company Building on the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, part of Museum Row on the Miracle Mile. There is plenty to see here, from the Museum’s incredible architecture to the menacing extraterrestrial headpiece worn in 1979’s “Alien.” New exhibits always arriving. This visit will be followed by a NO-HOST lunch at The Original Farmers Market at Fairfax and Third, just 2 blocks from the Museum.
Join our musical salute to American veterans featuring renowned singer Michael D’Angelo performing at Casa del Monte, a sprawling private estate overlooking the high desert. Your day begins with a scenic drive into Joshua Tree National Park, stopping at Keys Point to view the Coachella Valley’s communities below, as well as the San Andreas Fault and—on a clear day—El Centinela, a towering peak in Mexico 100 miles away! (Bring your binoculars). Next, continue to neighboring Yucca Valley and enjoy a lavish buffet lunch and open bar at Casa del Monte while being inspired by a medley of patriotic songs and standard classics performed live by Michael D’Angelo. Estimated return time to desert communities is 5:00 p.m. Limited participants—sign up today!

Discover the Spanish-style Riverside Mission Inn and thrill at its annual Festival of Lights, a colorful display of over 5 million lights in all shapes and sizes, along with an assortment of animated characters and sculptures which decorate the entire façade. This historic mission is where presidents and celebrities have flocked since 1876. Main Street is filled with musicians and strolling carolers, as well as restaurants and cafes. This also includes a docent lead tour of the outside of the hotel conducted by the Mission Inn Foundation. You will have free time to enjoy the Christmas scenery and enjoy a NO HOST dinner at one of the surrounding restaurants before returning back to the desert.
A day after the iconic Rose Parade, travel by comfortable motor coach to Pasadena to view the extravagant floats. This revealing tour eliminates the pre-dawn departure from the desert, i.e. you will leave at a civil hour and you won’t have to fight Parade crowds. Marvel at the scores of floats up close that are displayed outside Pasadena High School and discover for yourself how every square inch of the floats’ exposed surface areas are covered with flowers and other natural materials, including a variety of fruits, seeds, barks, grasses and flowers. Experienced professionals and hard-working volunteers painstakingly applied the final touches to the floral floats. At the Rose Plaza float pavilion, marvel at the magic and detail these creators employed in producing their floral masterpieces that only a day before traveled down Colorado Blvd. Following the presentation, enjoy a no-host lunch near Old Pasadena.
The Phantom is back to thrill audiences once again! Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which was rapturously received by London critics when it reopened in 2021. Featuring Maria Björnson’s brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of Harold Prince, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes “The Music of the Night,” “All I Ask of You,” “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again,” “Masquerade,” and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as ‘The Phantom’ who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine’s love for Raoul, The Phantom’s obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide. We have secured seats in the first 3 rows of the Mezzanine and first 10 rows of the right and left orchestra seats. Show is preceded by a NO-HOST lunch at the LA Famous Farmers Market at Fairfax and Third.
